How It Works: The Operator Client
Your operators will use the Operator Client to chat directly with
your web site's visitors. When a visitor clicks your live support button, all operators will be
notified of a new "call" (both audibly and visually). Your operators will be provided the IP address,
geographic location, requested department, and last web page visited of the caller. With a simple click,
any operator (regardless of assigned department) may answer the call.
Operators may chat simultaneously with multiple site visitors, easily switching between callers with
a single click. While chatting, operators may transfer a caller to another department, return a
caller to the queue, and open web sites automatically for your site's visitors. Canned responses and
web page addresses help reduce key strokes and time spent assisting your site's visitors.
The Operator Client also provides real time tracking of your web site's visitors, including IP address,
current page being viewed, time spent on that page, and geographic location.
The Operator Team Lounge provides a convenient place for your operators to chat with each other, and is a
great way to help train new representatives or ask questions of co-workers.
The Operator Client can be run on virtually any computer and uses Java technology for fast, secure and
reliable real-time connections. You may place the operator client on any web page on your site, or your
operators may log in at addonlivesupport.com.
